Alex Wigley announced via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/737481303005312) that he is working with Frank Verbeke on upgraded thicker spar saddles for BD5J’s. Alex reported the new units will be made in 0.22 in thickness aluminum, with a batch in production as of April 6th, 2022. It is reported that they would be six (6) months before they are available.
Owners who have been trailering their BD5J’s tp and from airports and airshows have reported cracking in the Spar Saddles, which is believed to be a result of the road transport loads.
